Started by Late Mahadeo (Mangesh) Rane in 1988 with one bus and a simple promise — honest service, on time, every time. Today his sons Soham and Siddhesh Rane run it between them, to the same standard, more than three decades later.
In 1988, a young man with a single bus and a vision started Rane Travels from a small office in Andheri East, Mumbai. His name was Mahadeo Rane, known across Mumbai's tour and travel industry as Mangesh Rane.
His vision was simple, and it has stayed unchanged: provide honest service, on-time delivery, clean cars and buses, and customised attention to every booking. No shortcuts. No bait-and-switch. No fine print designed to surprise the customer at the end of a trip.
His beginning was humble — one bus, one office, one promise. Over more than three decades, he grew the fleet through nothing more complicated than hard work, on-time delivery, honest billing, and a willingness to go the extra mile. When a driver couldn't show up due to an emergency or illness, Mangesh himself would drive the car. That was the standard he set for the business.
Today, every booking at Konkan Central still passes through that founding standard.
Mangesh's son Soham Rane now runs the family business day-to-day with the same professionalism and perfection his father insisted on, serving Mumbai's families, corporates, and travel desks with the same standard Rane Travels was built on. His elder brother Siddhesh Rane — a Company Secretary and lawyer by profession — contributes strategic guidance and family oversight on the side of his own full-time career.
Runs the day-to-day business hands-on — the voice on the phone for most bookings, the one who confirms the car, sends the driver, and follows up after every trip. Continues his father Mangesh's on-time, owner-attention-to-every-booking standard.
A Company Secretary and lawyer by profession, Siddhesh contributes strategic guidance to the family business — corporate empanelment, GST compliance, customer policy, and long-term direction. The operational running rests with Soham.
