The Innova Crysta is the same trip at ₹500 a day less, driver plus 6 with two captain seats in the middle row; driver plus 7 is subject to availability, when a bench extension is fitted between the captain seats. The Innova Hycross ZX Top is the top model: powered recliner captain seats, a panoramic sunroof and a near-silent hybrid cabin. Rates follow the kilometres covered in a day, so adding a day usually lowers the daily rate. Work out your exact rate.
Nothing is collected from you on the road. The daily rate covers the chauffeur and his allowance. You buy the fuel, full tank out and full tank back, and you pay toll and parking exactly as incurred, against the FASTag statement and the cash receipts. No night charge, no minimum kilometres, no extra kilometre rate, and nothing added for crossing a state line. The car is serviced on schedule at the authorised Toyota workshop and we keep every invoice. Every rule of a booking, written down.
Kankavli is about 480 km from Mumbai. The whole five-day trip usually runs 1,300 to 1,500 km. On the flat rate none of it is billed by the kilometre: you pay the day rate, fill the fuel your trip uses, and pay toll/parking. A day runs until 12 midnight. If the car reaches our garage after 11 PM on the last day, one extra day's driver allowance is payable; after 12 midnight, the next day's rate applies. A ₹2,000 deposit confirms your date.
Two long highway days and three days in and out of the car on coast and ghat roads. This is where a quiet, comfortable car earns its keep.
Near-silent hybrid cabin. The Hycross ZX Top is a petrol strong hybrid. It pulls away on electric power in silence, and the cabin stays calm, with far less engine noise and vibration than a diesel.
Leave early, lunch on the highway, check in at Kankavli by evening.
Kankavli, Amboli, Malvan, Tarkarli, Devgad and Vijaydurg, at your own pace. No kilometre meter is running.
Drive back to Mumbai. Refill the tank and pay the day rate plus toll/parking. That is the whole bill.

The whole trip runs from Kankavli, right on the Mumbai-Goa highway and within about an hour of Malvan, Devgad and Amboli. Our family runs two stays there, each with its own website and phone number. Book the stay with them and the car with us, and we will plan the days around your check-in.

Clear skies and calm sea. Amboli is at its best in and just after the monsoon.
Sindhudurg Fort boats and Tarkarli water sports stop in the monsoon, and are paid separately.

The car rate covers the car, chauffeur and his allowance. You pay fuel, toll/parking, stays, food and entry tickets.
A drop is priced exactly like a same-day return to the same place, because the car covers the same kilometres either way. The return kilometres are counted in the band, so there is no one-way premium and no separate dead mileage charge on top. You pay the fuel for the whole journey, out and back, plus toll/parking and any state tax at actuals.
Starting from Navi Mumbai, Panvel or Thane? The Mumbai-Goa highway starts on your side of the city. Tell us your pickup point and we will time the departure around it.
The Konkan highway is mostly four lane concrete now and still not finished. The stretches through Raigad and Ratnagiri carry the bottlenecks: the Indapur and Mangaon bypasses, the Chiplun flyover, and heavy speed breakers on the concreted Panvel to Kolad section. From roughly Lanja south through Sindhudurg it is done, and the last 150 km is the best driving on the route. Ministers have announced completion more than once. We go by what the road is actually like this month.
Toll collection began at Kharpada near Pen on 16 May 2026, with Khamb near Roha and more plazas coming at Nagothane and near Poladpur. If you remember a free run to the Konkan, that has changed.
The rates at the new plazas are not published anywhere we can verify. You get the receipts instead of a guess.
Rs 250 for a car, concessional until the end of 2026, and it takes 45 minutes to an hour off getting out of Mumbai.
Mangaon at the three hour mark, Chiplun at the halfway point in time, then Ratnagiri or Ganpatipule for a night if you are splitting it.
Green, empty and slower, and heavy rain has disrupted this highway on record. We will still drive it. We will not promise you a schedule in July.
Which is most of the reason we know which stretch is finished and which is not.
A Konkan road trip done properly is not one drive, it is four or five short ones with the car waiting in between. The mistake people make is booking too few nights and spending the holiday on the highway.
Ganpatipule, Ratnagiri, Kankavli or Malvan, Devgad, and a night at either end. Fewer than four and you are driving, not travelling.
The hill is the deity and the pradakshina goes around it. The trust publishes the daily tide table, which tells you something about the sea here.
Sindhudurg fort is a ten to fifteen minute boat ride, and the boats do not run from June to September.
In season, roughly March to May, though nobody notifies a season and the fruit follows the weather.
No sights of its own, and the best placed town in Sindhudurg for reaching everything that does.
Either turn inland and up the ghat, or keep going and cross into Goa. Both add a day and neither adds much driving.
