Short trip? The flat daily rate may cost you less.
Our flagship Innova Hycross ZX Top, filmed on the actual car. The panoramic sunroof opening, the powered recliner captain seats with the electric leg rest out, and the cabin on the move.
The film explains the daily bands, why more days means a lower daily rate, how a one-way drop is priced and what is charged at actuals. The rates on this page follow it.
| Vehicle | Per kilometre | Driver allowance | Minimum |
|---|---|---|---|
| Innova Crysta, driver plus 6 or 7 | ₹20 a km | ₹600 a day | 300 km a day |
| Innova Hycross ZX Top | ₹25 a km | ₹600 a day | 300 km a day |
| Sedan, Dzire or Swift | ₹14 a km | ₹500 a day | 300 km a day |
| Honda Amaze | ₹15 a km | ₹500 a day | 300 km a day |
| Ertiga or Carens | ₹16 a km | ₹500 a day | 300 km a day |
The fuel is inside every one of those figures. You never stand at a pump and there is no fuel bill to settle at the end. Toll and parking are payable at actuals against the FASTag statement and the receipts, and that is the only thing collected from you on the road. No night charge, no state border charge, no one way premium.
We publish two ways of paying for the same two cars, and they are not a cheap version and a dear version. The only difference between them is the fuel. On the per kilometre rate we buy the fuel and it is inside the rate, with the chauffeur allowance added separately. On the flat daily rate you buy the fuel yourself and the chauffeur allowance is already inside the price. Nothing else changes.
Which one costs you less depends entirely on how far you are going.
| Your trip, on the Innova Hycross | Per kilometre, fuel in | Flat daily rate, plus your fuel | Cheaper for you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lonavala and back, 1 day, about 190 km | ₹8,100 (billed on the 300 km minimum) | ₹5,500 plus about ₹1,500 of fuel | Flat rate, clearly |
| Shirdi and back, 2 days, about 520 km | ₹16,200 | ₹12,000 plus about ₹4,200 of fuel | About the same |
| Goa and back, 4 days, about 1,220 km | ₹32,900 | ₹24,000 plus about ₹9,800 of fuel | Per kilometre, just |
Rather than argue about it, the calculator at the top of this page works out both for your actual trip, adds the fuel you would buy on the flat rate, and tells you plainly which one leaves you better off. It recommends the cheaper one for you, not the dearer one for us.
Because what you are booking is the day, not the distance. The car and the chauffeur leave our garage for you in the morning and cannot take another booking until they are back, whether you drive 80 kilometres or 300. Our cost for that day is the same either way: the chauffeur's salary, his food and his stay, the insurance, the permit and the wear on the car.
If we billed only the kilometres actually run, we would have to refuse every short trip, because a car that runs 80 kilometres and waits all day earns less than it costs to send out. The minimum is what makes a short trip bookable at all. Every operator in this trade has one. We would rather print ours than spring it on you after the duty.
And if your trip really is a short one, do not take a per kilometre car at all. Take the Innova Hycross or the Innova Crysta on the flat daily rate. Those two have no kilometre meter and no minimum of any kind: you pay for the day and you buy your own fuel, so a short day costs you a short day.
Kilometres run from the moment the car leaves our garage in Andheri East to the moment it is back. A duty slip is made for every trip showing the opening and the closing reading. It is shown to you at the drop and your signature is taken on it, so there is never an argument about a number afterwards.
On a one way drop, you travel one way and the car travels both. It has to come back to the garage empty, and we cannot sell those kilometres to anybody else, so the distance is counted out and back. That is why a drop and a same day return to the same place cost you the same. What you are not charged is a one way premium or a dead mileage fee on top, which most operators do add. The return kilometres are already inside the rate you see here.
The distance in any quotation we send is measured on Google Maps before you travel. The kilometres finally billed are the actual run on the duty slip, not the estimate.
Sedans, the Ertiga and Carens, the Fortuner, the Vellfire, Tempo Travellers, the Force Urbania and full buses. All of them per kilometre with the fuel included, all from the same number, all on the same duty slip. See the full fleet, or price any of them on the estimator.
Every route page shows the real distance, the days people usually take and both ways of paying: Shirdi, Goa, Mahabaleshwar, Nashik, Pune, Bhimashankar, Lonavala, Alibaug and seventeen more.
