Included
  • Innova Hycross ZX Top
  • Chauffeur for the whole trip
  • Driver allowance
  • No kilometre meter, no minimum kilometres
You pay
  • Fuel: car given on full tank, returned on full tank
  • Toll and parking, at actuals

Nothing is collected from you on the road. The daily rate covers the chauffeur and his allowance. You buy the fuel, full tank out and full tank back, and you pay toll and parking exactly as incurred, against the FASTag statement and the cash receipts. No night charge, no minimum kilometres, no extra kilometre rate, and nothing added for crossing a state line. The car is serviced on schedule at the authorised Toyota workshop and we keep every invoice. Every rule of a booking, written down.

Daman is about 180 km from Andheri, roughly three and a half hours by the coastal highway, and Silvassa is forty minutes further inland. Two days runs about 440 km garage to garage. On the flat rate none of it is billed by the kilometre: you pay the day rate and fill the fuel your trip uses. A day runs until 12 midnight. If the car reaches our garage after 11 PM on the last day, one extra day's driver allowance is payable; after 12 midnight, the next day's rate applies. A ₹2,000 deposit confirms your date.

Our Pick for Daman and Silvassa

Why the Hycross suits a two-state weekend.

This is a short, easy run with two border crossings and a lot of getting in and out of the car. What matters here is space for the bags and a cabin the children will sit in happily.

Near-silent hybrid cabin. The Hycross ZX Top is a petrol strong hybrid. It pulls away on electric power in silence, and the cabin stays calm, with far less engine noise and vibration than a diesel.

How It Works

Two states, one rate, one car.

We arrive early, tank full

The coastal highway north is clear before eight. The Hycross and your chauffeur reach your door at first light.

Two states, one rate

Daman and Silvassa are union territories, not Maharashtra. Under the flat band that changes nothing: the rate is read off the same table.

Home on the second evening, full tank

Refill at the end and pay the day rate plus toll and parking. That is the whole bill.

What to See

Portuguese forts, a lighthouse and a lake.

Moti Daman Fort

The sixteenth-century Portuguese walls above the Damanganga, with the old church and the governor's house inside.

Daman Lighthouse

On the fort wall at the river mouth. The best view of the estuary and the fishing fleet coming in.

Devka and Jampore Beaches

Devka is the busy one with the promenade; Jampore is the long quiet stretch south of the river.

Dudhni Lake

An hour inland from Silvassa, on the Madhuban backwater. Boating, and hills on the far bank.

Vanganga Lake Garden

The island garden at Silvassa with the Japanese-style bridges. A short, easy stop with children.

Tribal Museum, Silvassa

The Warli collection, well presented and rarely crowded. Half an hour well spent.

Know Before You Go

Six things worth knowing before Daman and Silvassa.

It is a union territory, not a state

Daman, Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli are one union territory. Your All India Tourist Permit covers it and we add nothing for the crossing.

Two days beats one

A Daman day trip is 400 km and lands in a higher band than two unhurried days. Staying the night is genuinely cheaper per day.

Weekends are busy at Devka

Friday and Saturday nights fill the promenade. Jampore stays quiet.

Swimming is not the point

The water is shallow, muddy and tidal. Come for the forts, the lake and the food, not for a swim.

Silvassa is inland, Daman is coastal

They are about forty minutes apart. Doing both in one day means rushing; splitting them over two is easy.

Best months

November to February. The monsoon fills Dudhni but the beaches are not at their best.

Starting from Borivali, Bhayandar or Vasai? The Western Express Highway runs your way out of the city. Tell us your pickup point and we will time the departure around it.

Worth Knowing

They are one union territory now, not two, and most pages still have it wrong.

Dadra and Nagar Haveli merged with Daman and Diu on 26 January 2020 to form a single union territory, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. Silvassa is in the Dadra and Nagar Haveli district and Daman in the Daman district of the same territory. The merged territory even got a new vehicle registration mark. Any page telling you about two separate union territories is more than six years out of date.

Three to four hours, and the best short break we run

About 170 to 190 km up NH 48. One night and two days, and the only route on our list that genuinely works as a weekend.

No special permit for the car

We found no entry permit or border formality for a private or chauffeur driven car coming from Maharashtra.

The beaches are for walking

The Ministry of Tourism’s own description of Jampore notes blackish mud coloured water. Devka and Jampore are sunset and stroll beaches, not swimming beaches.

The forts are the real draw

Moti Daman fort, St Jerome’s fort at Nani Daman with its grand river gateway and lighthouse, the Church of Bom Jesus from 1603, and the Somnath Mahadev temple.

Silvassa is greener than you expect

The Tribal Museum, Hirwa Van, the Daman Ganga riverfront, Vanganga Lake garden and the Vasona Lion Safari on the Khanvel road.

A word on liquor

Carrying it back into Maharashtra is subject to Maharashtra excise rules and a permit. Our chauffeurs will not carry liquor in the vehicle. We would rather say that plainly at the booking stage.

Common Questions · Mumbai to Daman and Silvassa Cab

What people ask before booking.

How much is a Mumbai to Daman and Silvassa cab in the Hycross?▾
Two days covering both is about 440 km garage to garage, an average of about 220 km a day, which is the base band, so it is ₹5,500 a day Monday to Saturday and ₹6,000 on Sunday. A Daman day trip alone is about 400 km in a single day, which reads as ₹6,500. Fuel, toll and parking are extra and the driver allowance is included.
Is there an extra charge for leaving Maharashtra?▾
No. The same distance bands apply anywhere in India. Your permit is an All India Tourist Permit and the fee for it is shared between the states, so there is nothing further to pay at the boundary.
How far is Daman from Mumbai, and how long is the drive?▾
About 180 km from Andheri by the coastal highway, roughly three and a half hours. Silvassa is a further forty minutes inland.
Is the Mumbai to Daman taxi billed per kilometre?▾
No. The Hycross flat rate has no kilometre meter and no hourly counting. You pay the daily rate, the fuel your trip uses, and toll/parking.
Can we add Saputara?▾
Yes. Saputara is about three hours east of Silvassa and makes a comfortable third day, and the averaged distance keeps the rate at ₹5,500 a day.
Do you pick up from Borivali and Vasai?▾
Yes, with no extra charge for a pickup within the city. Starting from the western suburbs saves close to an hour on this route.
Is there a state tax for taking the car to Daman, Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli?▾
Our daily rate does not change for crossing a state line, and we add nothing for it. What can be charged is a government levy, and that is passed to you at actuals against the receipt: a state entry fee or entry tax where the state levies one on a tourist vehicle, and any monument or park entry fee on the vehicle. Our car holds an All India Tourist Permit, so most states charge nothing at all. You pay only what is written on the receipt.
Is this a Mumbai to Daman and Silvassa taxi, a cab or a car rental?▾
People search for all of those and here they mean the same thing. A Mumbai to Daman and Silvassa taxi, a Daman and Silvassa cab service, Innova car hire and a Mumbai to Daman and Silvassa car rental all get you the same arrangement from us: one chauffeur-driven Innova that stays with you for the whole trip, priced exactly as this page sets out. We are a car rental service run by the Rane family since 1988 and not an aggregator app, so the car is ours, the chauffeur is on our payroll, and the figure we quote you is the figure you pay. A Mumbai to Daman and Silvassa cab booking takes one WhatsApp message: the date, your pickup area and how many of you there are.
