Our chauffeurs know this circuit. They know the order the temples are taken in, where the car can wait, how long darshan usually runs at each one, and where to stop for food and a toilet break. You are not directing the driver from the back seat.

The Innova Crysta is the same trip at ₹500 a day less, driver plus 6 with two captain seats in the middle row; driver plus 7 is subject to availability, when a bench extension is fitted between the captain seats. The Innova Hycross ZX Top is the top model: powered recliner captain seats, a panoramic sunroof and a near-silent hybrid cabin. Rates follow the kilometres covered in a day, so adding a day usually lowers the daily rate. Work out your exact rate.

Included
  • Innova Hycross ZX Top
  • Chauffeur for the whole trip
  • Driver allowance
  • No kilometre meter, no minimum kilometres
You pay
  • Fuel: car given on full tank, returned on full tank
  • Toll and parking, at actuals

Nothing is collected from you on the road. The daily rate covers the chauffeur and his allowance. You buy the fuel, full tank out and full tank back, and you pay toll and parking exactly as incurred, against the FASTag statement and the cash receipts. No night charge, no minimum kilometres, no extra kilometre rate, and nothing added for crossing a state line. The car is serviced on schedule at the authorised Toyota workshop and we keep every invoice. Every rule of a booking, written down.

Somnath is about 900 km from Andheri and Dwarka a further 230 km up the coast. The full circuit runs about 2,450 km garage to garage over seven days. On the flat rate none of it is billed by the kilometre: you pay the day rate and fill the fuel your trip uses. A day runs until 12 midnight. If the car reaches our garage after 11 PM on the last day, one extra day's driver allowance is payable; after 12 midnight, the next day's rate applies. A ₹2,000 deposit confirms your date.

Our Pick for Dwarka and Somnath

Why the Hycross suits a week on the road.

Seven days is a different proposition from a weekend. The car becomes the room you spend most of the trip in, and your luggage lives in it. Space, a quiet cabin and seats that recline properly stop being nice to have by about day three.

Near-silent hybrid cabin. The Hycross ZX Top is a petrol strong hybrid. It pulls away on electric power in silence, and the cabin stays calm, with far less engine noise and vibration than a diesel.

How It Works

One car and one chauffeur for the whole week.

We leave Mumbai early on day one

Somnath is a long first day up the coast. The Hycross and your chauffeur reach your door at first light, tank full.

The car stays with you all week

Temples, the jetty at Okha, the hotel each night. Your bags stay in the car and the same chauffeur drives every kilometre.

Home on the seventh evening, full tank

Refill at the end and pay seven day rates plus toll and parking. That is the whole bill.

What to See

Two Jyotirlingas, a Char Dham and an island.

Somnath Temple

The first of the twelve Jyotirlingas, rebuilt facing the open sea. The evening aarti and the light and sound show afterwards.

Dwarkadhish Temple

The five-storey shrine above the Gomti, with the flag changed five times a day. Dwarka is one of the four Char Dham.

Bet Dwarka

The island off Okha, reached by boat in about twenty minutes. The temple said to stand where Krishna lived.

Nageshwar Jyotirlinga

Between Dwarka and Bet Dwarka, with the large Shiva statue beside it. The second Jyotirlinga of this trip.

Bhalka Tirth and Triveni Sangam

A short drive from Somnath, where three rivers meet the sea. Quiet in the early morning.

Porbandar on the coast road

Kirti Mandir and the old town, an easy break between Somnath and Dwarka.

Know Before You Go

Six things worth knowing before Dwarka and Somnath.

Seven days costs less per day than six

The rate is read from the average distance per day. Spread the same circuit over seven days and the average drops a band, so you pay ₹6,000 instead of ₹6,500. A slower trip is genuinely cheaper per day.

Bet Dwarka depends on the boat

The ferry from Okha runs in daylight and stops in rough weather. Keep the morning free rather than scheduling it tightly.

Two Jyotirlingas on one trip

Somnath and Nageshwar are both on this circuit. Pilgrims often plan it that way.

Book Somnath for an evening

Arrive in time for the aarti. It is the reason people remember Somnath rather than just visiting it.

Long driving days at each end

Mumbai to Somnath and Dwarka back to Mumbai are both full days. The middle of the week is gentle.

Best months

October to March. May and June on the Saurashtra coast are very hot and the sea breeze does not help inland.

Starting from Borivali, Bhayandar or Vasai? The coastal highway north runs your way out of the city and saves the best part of an hour. Tell us your pickup point and we will time the departure around it.

Worth Knowing

Five nights, minimum, and Gujarat is a prohibition state.

Mumbai to Dwarka is roughly 900 to 950 km, and Dwarka to Somnath another 232 km via Porbandar. A sensible shape is six days: out to Ahmedabad or Rajkot, on to Dwarka, a day for Dwarka and Bet Dwarka, across to Somnath, then the return. Anyone selling this as a long weekend has not driven it.

Somnath bans all electronics inside

The trust’s own words: mobiles, cameras, smartwatches, laptops, tablets, calculators, all strictly prohibited. There is a free cloak room, and your chauffeur stays with the car for everything you would rather not hand over.

Somnath is free and open 6 AM to 10 PM

Aarti at 7 AM, noon and 7 PM. The light and sound show runs 8 to 9 PM and the trust notes it does not run in the monsoon. We could find no official price for it, so we will not quote one.

Book only on somnath.org

The trust warns publicly that rooms, pooja and donations are accepted only through its own site, and cautions against third parties approaching on WhatsApp or social media.

Bet Dwarka no longer needs a boat

Sudarshan Setu, a 2.32 km cable stayed bridge from Okha, opened in February 2024. We could not confirm whether cars may cross and park on the island, so we will find out on the day rather than promise.

Do not arrive at Dwarka at midday

The Dwarkadhish temple closes in the afternoon and reopens in the evening. We plan the driving around it.

Gujarat is dry

Liquor may not be carried, bought or consumed in Gujarat without a permit from the state excise department. Visitors from outside Gujarat can apply for a limited permit. Check the current rules yourself before you travel. Our chauffeurs will not carry liquor in the vehicle.

Common Questions · Mumbai to Dwarka and Somnath Cab

What people ask before booking.

How much is a Dwarka and Somnath tour from Mumbai by car?▾
The full circuit over seven days is about 2,450 km garage to garage, an average of about 350 km a day, which is the ₹6,000 band, so it is ₹6,000 a day Monday to Saturday and ₹6,500 on Sunday. Seven weekday days come to ₹42,000. Fuel, toll and parking are extra and the driver allowance is included.
Is there an extra charge for going to Gujarat?▾
No. The same distance bands apply anywhere in India. Your car runs on an All India Tourist Permit, the fee for which is shared between the states, so there is nothing further to pay at the boundary. Any state entry charge, where one applies, is passed on at actuals with the receipt.
Why is seven days cheaper per day than six?▾
Because the rate is read from the average distance per day, not from the total. The same 2,450 km over six days averages 408 km a day and lands in the ₹6,500 band; over seven days it averages 350 km and sits in the ₹6,000 band. The slower plan costs less per day and gives you more time.
Does the same chauffeur stay for the whole week?▾
Yes. The same car and the same chauffeur from the first morning to the last, and his food and stay are inside the daily rate. You are never asked to arrange or settle either.
Is the trip billed per kilometre?▾
No. There is no kilometre meter and no hourly counting. You are told one figure for the whole week before the car moves. You pay fuel, full tank to full tank, and toll and parking at actuals.
Can we add the Statue of Unity on the way home?▾
Yes. Kevadia sits on the return leg and an eighth day keeps the rate at ₹6,000 a day. See Mumbai to Statue of Unity.
Is there a state tax for taking the car to Gujarat?▾
Our daily rate does not change for crossing a state line, and we add nothing for it. What can be charged is a government levy, and that is passed to you at actuals against the receipt: a state entry fee or entry tax where the state levies one on a tourist vehicle, and any monument or park entry fee on the vehicle. Our car holds an All India Tourist Permit, so most states charge nothing at all. You pay only what is written on the receipt.
Is this a Mumbai to Dwarka and Somnath taxi, a cab or a car rental?▾
People search for all of those and here they mean the same thing. A Mumbai to Dwarka and Somnath taxi, a Dwarka and Somnath cab service, Innova car hire and a Mumbai to Dwarka and Somnath car rental all get you the same arrangement from us: one chauffeur-driven Innova that stays with you for the whole trip, priced exactly as this page sets out. We are a car rental service run by the Rane family since 1988 and not an aggregator app, so the car is ours, the chauffeur is on our payroll, and the figure we quote you is the figure you pay. A Mumbai to Dwarka and Somnath cab booking takes one WhatsApp message: the date, your pickup area and how many of you there are.
