The Innova Crysta is the same trip at ₹500 a day less, driver plus 6 with two captain seats in the middle row; driver plus 7 is subject to availability, when a bench extension is fitted between the captain seats. The Innova Hycross ZX Top is the top model: powered recliner captain seats, a panoramic sunroof and a near-silent hybrid cabin. Rates follow the kilometres covered in a day, so adding a day usually lowers the daily rate. Work out your exact rate.
Nothing is collected from you on the road. The daily rate covers the chauffeur and his allowance. You buy the fuel, full tank out and full tank back, and you pay toll and parking exactly as incurred, against the FASTag statement and the cash receipts. No night charge, no minimum kilometres, no extra kilometre rate, and nothing added for crossing a state line. The car is serviced on schedule at the authorised Toyota workshop and we keep every invoice. Every rule of a booking, written down.
Kankavli is about 480 km from Mumbai on the Mumbai-Goa highway, roughly nine to ten hours with a lunch stop. A four-day Sindhudurg trip usually runs 1,100 to 1,300 km. On the flat rate none of it is billed by the kilometre: you pay the day rate and fill the fuel your trip uses. A day runs until 12 midnight. If the car reaches our garage after 11 PM on the last day, one extra day's driver allowance is payable; after 12 midnight, the next day's rate applies. A ₹2,000 deposit confirms your date.
Nine hours on the Mumbai-Goa highway is where a car shows its quality. The Hycross makes the drive the easy part of the holiday.
Near-silent hybrid cabin. The Hycross ZX Top is a petrol strong hybrid. It pulls away on electric power in silence, and the cabin stays calm, with far less engine noise and vibration than a diesel.
An early start from Mumbai puts you in Kankavli by evening. The Hycross and your chauffeur reach your door.
Use Kankavli as your base and go as you please along the coast. No kilometre meter is running.
Refill at the end of the trip and pay the day rate plus toll/parking. That is the whole bill.

June to September is beautiful, but the highway is slower. Leave extra time.
A drop is priced exactly like a same-day return to the same place, because the car covers the same kilometres either way. The return kilometres are counted in the band, so there is no one-way premium and no separate dead mileage charge on top. You pay the fuel for the whole journey, out and back, plus toll/parking and any state tax at actuals.
Starting from Navi Mumbai, Panvel or Thane? The Mumbai-Goa highway starts on your side of the city. Tell us your pickup point and we will time the departure around it.
The district administration’s own tourist list names Sawantwadi Palace, Amboli and Sindhudurg Fort. It does not name Kankavli, because Kankavli is a highway town. What it is very good at is being the place you stay while you reach everything else: Malvan, Devgad, Sawantwadi, Amboli and Kunkeshwar are all day runs from here.
There is no beach at Kankavli. The nearest coast is a drive towards Devgad or Malvan. Anyone selling you a Kankavli beach has not been.
Kankavli sits on the completed four lane concrete south of Lanja. Eight to nine hours from Mumbai, and the last 150 km of it is the easy part.
The Government of India’s 2018 geographical indication for Alphonso covers Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Palghar, Thane and Raigad. Kankavli is in it.
Peaking in April and May. There is no officially notified season, and fruiting moves with the weather, so we will not promise mangoes on a given date.
Konkan Central is a Kankavli family. The driver knows which road is which, and that is not a line of marketing copy.
One night is a drive there and a drive back with a night in between.
A Kankavli base works because the four lane concrete is finished through Sindhudurg. What used to be three separate trips becomes day runs from one hotel, and you unpack once.

The ghat and the waterfalls, up towards the Karnataka border. Spectacular in and just after the monsoon, and that is also when the roads are at their worst.
